Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin had the pleasure in meeting bochurim and alumni of the Yeshiva he founded in his former hometown of Postville, Iowa, last week.
Rubashkin and his family founded the Jewish community there and build its synagogue and schools around the Agriprocessors kosher meat plant they owned and operated.
On his first meeting with the bochurim since his prison sentence was commuted, held at 770 Eastern Parkway, Rubashkin joined a chassidic farbrengen held in honor of Yud Alef Nissan, the birthday of the Rebbe.
In attendance was also the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Sholom Ber Gurkow.
For many of the bochurim, the occasion was especially meaningful, since it marked the first time they met the founder of their yeshiva.
