Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney made sure to mention Israel in his victory speech afer winning the New Hampshire Republican primary on Tuesday.
Criticizing President Barack Obama‘s policies, Romney said: “He chastises friends like Israel; I’ll stand with our friends.”
It was the only foreign country that was mentioned in his speech.
A triumphant Romney told exuberant supporters they made history with a second straight victory, CNN reported. It was the first time a non-incumbent Republican won both the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primaries.
The former Massachusetts governor called Obama “a failed president” and said he was asking “the good people of South Carolina to join the good citizens of New Hampshire to make 2012 the year he (Obama) runs out of time.”
Time Magazine’s Mark Halperin called the speech “one of Romney’s best speeches ever. Sounded more like a convention acceptance speech than a victory-night talk.”
In the past, Romney has committed that he would defeat the Islamic jihadists all around the world and has been open about restricting Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
In speeches, Romney requested the Arab states to stop providing weapons and financial support to Hezbollah and Hamas and instead to put pressure on the Palestinians to “drop terrorism and recognize Israel’s right to exist.”

Number 2 wake up! Romney is a used car salesman. He is a fauk conservative. he is on ever side of every issue there is. He is BUSH 41. A phony conservative who if elected will compromise w/ the Dems and sell out!

He is a republican John Kerry. everytime Republicans put up these weenie guys we lose; i.e. Bush 41 (2nd election), Dole, Mccain etc.
I am with the any one but Obama crowd, however don’t be fooled, Romney WILL put pressure on Israel to give away land, the same way Bush was involved in the terrible disengagement.
Its a shame that Huckabee isn’t running, form those still in the race, I belive that Santorum is the only one that wouldn’t pressure Israel to do dangerous things, hopefully Obama loses big, and Romney appoints good advisers, whom understand that land for peace doesn’t work, and only strengthens anti American terrorist organizations.
