Menachem (Mendy) Raitport, a business owner in Crown Heights, is giving another shot at the New York State Assembly.
Raitport is running as a Republican to represent the 43rd District which covers the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Crown Heights, Lefferts Gardens and East Flatbush.
He is running against incumbent Diana Richardson, a Democrat who was first elected to the office in 2015.
Raitport is a small business owner in Crown Heights and volunteers for the Shomrim neighborhood patrol. He hails from a family that has been deeply involved in philanthropy and community activism.
Raitport ran for the New York State Assembly and the New York State Senate in the past.
Raitport was endorsed by the Jewish Press newspaper, who noted that, “He promises to fight for our community. His opponent, the incumbent, has unnecessarily frayed ties with us.”
Raitport asked for the community’s support in the election today, and promises to fight for school choice and other issues pressing the community.
Like idea of having a candidate from frum community – but why not have good candidate?
Thats nice, but he never ran a campaign….
Is no doubt better than her…
I’m an EF resident and Richardson/Raitport were not on my ballot.
He was on mine
We have never seen Mendy around, now he wants our vote
Well said
Sadly but from what I see, for some odd reasons, when it comes to elections our CH community lacks guidance, effort and motivation.
