Ahavas Chesed, together with the New York Blood Center, held a successful Blood Drive today, May 26, at the Oholei Torah Ballroom, 667 Eastern Parkway.
The New York Blood Center has advised all New Yorkers that there was a severe shortage of available blood for local hospitals.
There were 146 participants at the Blood Drive. There was strict scheduling to ensure social distancing between blood donors, and all public health precautions were taken.
“The Crown Heights community can be proud of our community’s contribution to this important effort, which benefits all New Yorkers, of whatever background,” said Rabbi Avraham Lider, Executive Director of Ahavas Chesed. “We are here to help all G-d’s children, according to the wishes of Rabbi Schneersohn, the Lubavitcher Rebbe.”
I couldn’t be part of it today, but I would love a chance to help out in this way.
