Rabbi Elimelech Lebowitz, Dayan in Agudas Harabonim, Rov in Flatbush, and renowned Mumche in Hilchos Niddah, has joined the staff of Kolel L’horaah Ma’asis as the Meishiv and Magid Shiur for Hilchos Niddah.
Rabbi Lebowitz spent many years receiving Shimush from the Debreciner Rov Rabbi Moshe Stern OBM (Beer Moshe) and the Rav Moshe Bick OBM of Boro Park (Gaavad Mezibuzh).
He joins the Rosh Kolel Rabbi Sholom Shuchat, Sgan Rosh Kolel Rabbi Shraga Homnick, Meishiv for Chassidus Rabbi Eli Labkowski, and Kolel Mashpia Rabbi Simon Jacobson.
The Kolel L’Horaah Ma’asis of Crown Heights serves as the premier educational institution for young Rabbis aspiring to serve as Rabonim and Poskim in communities worldwide.
The Kollel was established to fill a void felt in the Jewish world whereby Bochurim and Yungeleit who study for many years in Yeshivos and Kolel complete their studies with extensive knowledge in Gemara, Rishonim and Acharonim, but didn’t study Halacha and more specifically its practical application in today’s day and age, thus leading to a void in Rabonim who can Pasken Shaalos and lead their communities.
This Kollel, the first of its kind in the Chabad world, is training over 40 young Rabbis in the practical applications of Jewish Law and prepares them to serve as leading Halachic authorities worldwide.
Now entering its 2nd year, the Kollel has increased its student body by 25%, with a long waiting list.
In addition to serving the students’ needs, the Kollel offers Sunday classes and study partners to local community members, as well as weekly recorded classes by world-renowned scholars and lecturers.
I’m in awe of this kolel!
