Over two hundred and fifty bochurim who learn in 770 gathered for a training seminar for next year’s Released Time program organized by the NCFJE.
The program, hosted by Dovid Margolin, began with Rabbi Sholom Ber Hecht of the NCFJE, who related the history and the goals of the Released Time program.
Rabbis Zevi Weinberg, Shimon Rivkin and Avremy Winner discussed practical tips for running a successful program and recruiting members.
Rabbi Sadya Engel, Released Time Program Coordinator, and Rabbi Shea Hecht spoke as well.
Rabbi Zalmen Leib Markowits spoke, and a question and answer session followed.
The keynote address was given by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, who spoke about how much the rebbe treasured the Released Time program and the important role the bochurim play in it.
The highlight of the dinner was when Rabbi Sholom Ber Hecht introduced the newly established advisory board of the Released Time program. Members Rabbi Mendel Kotlarsky, Rabbi Yanki Sufrin, Rabbi Balkany, and Rabbi Abba Levin each received a plaque with a five dollar bill that was given by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to Rabbi JJ Hecht during his years of directing the NCFJE.
