The staff of Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, the organization overseeing arrangements at the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s gravesite in Queens, are preparing to host a large crowd for Gimmel Tammuz this year.
Each year, people from around the country and world come to the Rebbe’s Ohel at the Old Montefiore Cemetery to mark the anniversary of his passing on the third day of Tammuz.
Rabbi Abba Refson, director of activities at the Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, says he has been working with his staff to ensure a smooth and organized experience for all visitors.
For those who plan to spend either the Shabbos before Gimmel Tammuz or after Gimmel Tammuz, this year on Thursday, June 23, near the Ohel, a large air-conditioned tent will be erected for sleeping a 5-minute walk from the Ohel.
Accommodations arrangements are available for Friday night, Shabbosim 28 Sivan and 5 Tammuz only.
Each individual attending must be submitted as a separate application. Yeshiva bochurim will be grouped as part of the Yeshivah they attend. Married men (Yungerlite) must register as well, and can request group placement, by selecting “Group” in the registration field and entering the administrator’s phone number in the subsequent field.
