Shluchim from the all Western states in the U.S. opened their annual regional Kinus Hashluchim on Friday in Memphis, Tennessee.
They are being hosted by the local Shliach Rabbi Levi Klein and his family.
The guest speakers are Rabbi Binyomin Klein, who served as the Rebbe’s secretary and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch in charge of the regional conventions.
30 Shluchim are expected over Shabbos, some arriving with family members.
“We are looking forward to a very warm Shabbos,” Rabbi Levi Klein told COLlive.
“Unlike other get-togethers, we will have no distractions of cell phones, email and computers. It will be a real Chasidishe Farbrengen.”
This convention covers the largest ground in the country, beginning with Tennessee up to California’s West Coast which holds its own Kinus.
“The idea of the Kinus, as the Rebbe said, is to sit together as brothers,” Klein added.
You really are.
