Rebbetzin Chaya Felder, wife of Horav Tzvi Mordechai Felder and Rebbetzin of the iconic “Felder’s Shul” on 18th Avenue in Boro Park, passed away on Wednesday, 8 Cheshvan, 5783.
She was 102.
Rebbetzin Felder was zoiche to bring up a family with many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, including the matriarch of a large Chabad Family, Mrs. Bina Cunin of Crown Heights, NY State Senator Simcha Felder, and many Chabad Chasidim and Shluchim.
Rebbetzin Chaya Felder merited to meet the Frierdiker Rebbe for Yechidus before her marriage to receive his blessing.
She co-directed “Felder’s Shul” on 18th Avenue in Boro Park, which hosted continuous Minyanim and Torah classes daily.
She also assisted her husband in many outreach activities offering Talmud Torah classes to all, free of charge, and in his campaign to have Jewish-owned stores closed on Shabbos, which was not the norm those days.
She merited to live long and see her children grandchildren great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren follow in her ways.
She lived the last two years of her life in the Rebbe’s Shchuna, surrounded by her loving, extended family.
She was predeceased by her daughter Shayndel OBM.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. Bina Cunin, Rav Shmuel Felder, Rav Chaim Moshe Felder, and Senator Simcha Felder, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The levaya took place in Eretz Yisroel.
