The internet can be extremely useful and beneficial.
R’ Yoel Kahn, one of the world’s most prominent scholars of Chassidism and kabbalistic thought, knows this fact not from today.
Back in January this year, a medical condition prevented him from leaving his home. Bochurim at 770 Eastern Parkway, refusing to miss his weekly shiur, had him speaking to them via Skype web video conferencing.
This week, the revered Mashpia and choizer (reviewer of the teachings) of the Rebbe sat down once again in front of a screen and webcam to deliver a class about the upcoming holiday of Shavuos.
Reb Yoel sat in the offices of Lahak, while his audience was in the Beit Midrash Ohel Moshe Yosef, a kollel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which filled the room for this rare opportunity.
Connecting the two continents was the team of Jewish.TV, the Jewish video website of Chabad.org.
