Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar recently paid a visit to Chabad’s Beis Rachel synagogue in Nur-Sultan, the capital city of Kazakhstan, which was renamed from Astana.
He was warmly greeted during the morning services by Kazakhstan’s Chief Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen.
They continued to meet with local government officials and businessman and philanthropist Mikhael Mirilashvili.
Following the visit, Rabbi Lazar wrote in the guest book a message of support and blessing “to the Rebbe‘s Shluchim in the city of Nur-Sultan.”
“May it be that the Rebbe’s blessings should be fully fulfilled and may you see great success in with wherever you go.
“Success in spreading the wellspring (of Chassidus) outward out of rest and expansion in materialism and spirituality in the visible and revealed good,” he wrote.
