Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yaroslavsky, the highest-ranking rabbinical authority of Chabad in Israel, was rushed to the hospital before Shabbos to receive treatment for a heart condition.
Rabbi Yaroslavsky, Rov of the Nachlas Har Chabad neighborhood in Kiryat Malachi and chairman of Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in Israel, returned last week from participating in the Global Yarchei Kallah in New York.
At the Yarchei Kallah, Rabbi Yaroslavsky was an active participant in the shiurim and discussions between the leading Chabad rabbonim, Roshei Yeshivos and Mashpiim. In his own remarks, he called on Lubavitch chassidim to raise the bar in observance of Torah and Mitzvos.
He flew back to Israel at the beginning of the week to resume his many responsibilities. On Friday, he was hospitalized in the Assuta Ashdod Medical Center in Ashdod.
“He is still in the hospital,” a Chabad activist from Kiryat Malachi, told COLlive.com. “He is feeling better after undergoing cardiac catheterization,” a procedure used to diagnose and treat certain cardiovascular conditions.
“We expect him to be released home on Tuesday and he will continue to receive treatment,” he said. The public was asked to pray for Yitzchak Yehuda ben Chaya Esther for a full and speedy recovery.
