Rabbi Taub on ‘Art of Marriage’

An artist sits in silent concentration, his brush held ever so gently against the canvas. He dabs the paint with precision and leans back to inspect his masterpiece. In his left hand he holds a large pallet with a rainbow of colored paints. From these he has mixed and blended new colors, lighter shades and darker hues creating a myriad of new possibilities and enabling him to add depth and texture to his masterpiece. With a sharp eye he analyzes the painting looking for areas to touch up. His spirit of creativity flows through his body as the skill in his hands expresses the thoughts and feelings of his heart. He was not always a master artist. Once he was simply a young enthusiast with creative talent. Only after careful instruction, and much time and effort, was he able to make his artwork truly special and unique. Only after listening to advice from the masters, was he able to turn his art into a masterpiece.

The art of marriage, a painting of brilliant colors against the canvas of the relationship between man and wife is a masterpiece that requires skill, technique, trial, error and instruction from master artists. What can be done to ensure the unique intimate quality to the relationship? In a world of high tech, speeding schedules and flashing neon colors which tools need to be used to paint a space of calm? How does one find the time to invest? Most importantly, in a world of artists, each person trying to perfect their own masterpiece of marriage, in what ways can one strive to make their marriage truly unique and valuable?

Monday, 16 Cheshvan, at 8:00pm Junior N’Shei will be hosting Rabbi Shais Taub. Rabbi Taub will give an art lesson the like of which one has never seen, a lesson in painting a picture that is yours and yours alone. With years of counseling experience he will share tips on what, where, and how to add depth, meaning and individuality enabling each person to make their marriage not only a masterpiece, but a masterpiece of superior worth, distinctiveness and satisfaction.
