Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Vigler, a dedicated member of the administration of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch in Israel, passed away on the eve of Monday, 8 Cheshvan 5784.
He was 72.
The Yeshiva, which runs educational institutions in Lod and Kfar Chabad, served as the representation of the Rebbe in the Holy Land, led by Rabbi Efraim Wolff OBM.
Rabbi Vigler served in the role since marrying the daughter of Rabbi Yitzchok Yona Mendelson, the longtime dormitory counselor of the Yeshiva. His wife, Tzipora Vigler was the “dorm mother.”
“He was a Yire Shamayim and dedicated to his role in an unusual way,” one of the people who knew him said. “Everybody loved him and learned from his ways and dedication.”
Rabbi Vigler lived in Shikun Chabad, a neighborhood in Lod where he built and raised his large family.
He is survived by his children Mrs. Nechama Dina Lipkin, Mrs. Rochel Marton, Mrs. Miriam Kesselman, R’ Tzvika Vigler, R, Menachem Mendel Vigler, Mrs. Goldie Pinson, Mrs. Chaya Baitch, Mrs. Penina Lipskar, Chana Vigler, R’ Sholom Vigler, and Shoshana Vigler; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife in 5782.
The levaya was held on Monday at Har Hamenuchos in Jerusalem.
