Does consciousness exist beyond the body? How does the way we live life on earth affect the experience we have in the afterlife? How can we connect with those who have passed on? Last night, Chabad of the Five Towns scholar-in-residence, Rabbi Shais Taub, addressed these questions in a lecture entitled: “Making Your Soul’s Mixtape: Memory, Consciousness, and the Afterlife.”
Many attendees of the lecture as well as those who viewed online said that they found great clarity and comfort in Rabbi Taub’s words. “Last night’s talk was profound,” wrote one viewer, “It is the only message that has given me comfort for my loss.”
The event took place at the Levi Yitzchak Library in Five Towns named for Levi Wolowik obm whose yahrzeit was this past Shabbos. Attendees at the lecture were encouraged to pledge mitzvos at mitzvosforlevi.com.
