Rabbi Moshe Pinson, recently returned from a poignant mission to Israel with members of Beis Shmuel Chabad, where he bore witness to the unwavering dedication of the Lerer family and their organization, VeSamachta, which has been at the forefront of humanitarian efforts for over 15 years.
Based near Gaza’s border in Ashkelon Barzilai Hospital, VeSamachta, under the leadership of Avremi and Rikki Lerer, serves as a beacon of hope in a region marred by conflict. Their tireless commitment ranges from providing hot meals for injured civilians and soldiers on the front lines to offering vital humanitarian support at Barzilai hospital.
As Chanukah approaches, VeSamachta announces plans to distribute gifts and menorahs to injured soldiers, soldiers on the front lines and their families. This initiative reflects the ultimate Pirsumei Nisa, spreading the light and joy of Chanukah to those enduring challenging and dark times.
On top of all the work they do, Rabbi Lerer’s profession is welding iron creations, the iron Menorahs you see in the photos are actually welded by Rabbi Lerer himself, totally engaging in the mitzvah of Neiros Chanukah.
