Rabbi Moshe Aaron Haberman, a resident of Kensington, NY and the father of Chabad families in the tri-state area, passed away on Sunday, 30 Tishrei, 5781.
He was 78.
Descended from Gerrer Chassidim, Rabbi Haberman became close to Chabad in the 1960’s and frequently attended the Rebbe’s farbrengens at 770 Eastern Parkway, bringing his children along.
He was an erudite Talmud Chacham, working as a teacher and principal before entering the Kashrus industry. He served as a Mashgiach at Empire for 27 years, where he would give daily shiurim in addition to his mashgiach duties.
He merited to see generations of Chassidim and Shluchim.
He is survived by his wife Chaya of Kensington and children, Rabbi Nochum Haberman – Crown Heights, Yocheved Minsky – Crown Heights, Bracha Gruenfeld – Flatbush, Riki Yom Tov – Boro Park, Malki Ostrov – Crown Heights/Hillside, and Tzvi Haberman– Kensington.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Monday, passing by 770 at 10 AM and burial at Old Montefiore Cememtery at 11 am.

What an Eidele Neshuma! And a big loss to his family and to all that knew this special person
He was so knowledgeable in Torah, and all areas in life. His sharp mind and humor, made his advice and sayings so memorable.
May his neshama have an aliyah.
