Rabbi Meir Aharon, the respected halachic posek and head of Beth Medrash L’Halacha UMishpat in Rechovot, Israel, passed away on 15 Kislev 5782.
He was 70 years old and suffered from a lengthy illness.
Rabbi Aharon has trained many Chabad rabbonim and Shluchim who learned in his Kollel Ohr Yaakov Ohr Zarua and the Beis Medrash.
He also served as Rov of the Yad Lashavim shul in Rechovot and a hanhala member of the Chabad Yeshiva in the city, led by his brother Rabbi Meir Aharon.
He wrote extensively about halacha in various publications over the years. He authored the books Masa Meir, a series exploring halachos in Gemara and poskim, Barchi Nafshi on Kapital 104 in Tehillim, Naharei Meir, Nitfei Hamor, Ziv Hashabbos, Ziv Yisroel and more.
He is survived by his wife Dina, and children Rabbi Daniel Shaul Aharon, Rochel, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Aharon, Rabbi Shmuel Aharon, Leah, Sarah, Rabbi Yisroel Aharon, Rabbi Mordechai Aharon, Rabbi Dovid Aharon, Chaya Mushka, Rikvah and Rabbi Moshe Aharon; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
