He could not have been born in 1939 and served in Normandy (1944). According to Wikipedia he was born in 1924.

It appears that the reference to “just days before the outbreak of ww2” is referring to when he was “selected for a place on the ‘Kindertransport’ to Great Britain.”

How could he be in his seventies if he saw front line action in the Normandy Beach Invasion & was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the field? He must be in his nineties in fact.

What a sweet guy. He often davens with us in Beit Levi – Chabad of Baka. While into his 90s, he could totally pass for someone in his 70s. May Hashem continue to give him strength – until 120
