Rabbi Nochum Kaplan was re-elected chairman of the Standing Standards and Review Committee of the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) during their semiannual meeting in Vail, Colorado, this week.
The NCPSA is a private organization dedicated to accrediting American private schools on a national level. It serves as an umbrella organization and currently fully accredits 17 accrediting agencies.
Rabbi Kaplan has long been involved in accrediting schools and raising their standards as the director of the Merkos Chinuch Office, an agency at Lubavitch World Headquarters, and chairman of the Merkos National Accreditation Board.
He served as principal of Yeshiva Days Schools in Virginia, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York and as chairman of the executive board of the National Conference of Yeshiva Principals. He is the author of the “Principal’s Administrative Manual” and of the widely acclaimed series of halacha texts “Halichot Yisrael” published by Torah Umesorah.
During his visit to Colorado, Rabbi Kaplan met with Rabbi Dovid Mintz, Executive Director of Jewish Community Center – Chabad Vail.
