Rabbi Aryeh Levin, a founding member of the Chabad community in Rechovot, Israel and beloved educator, passed away on Friday, 13 Teves, 5783.
He was 78.
Rabbi Levin was a founding member of the Chabad community in Rechovot, Israel and a much-loved mashpia of the community.
As a maggid shiur in the Chabad Yeshiva in Lod and teacher in the local school, he instilled in his students a love and passion for yiddishkeit that has remained with them throughout their lives.
Those who knew him describe him as “an extremely kind man. He had a heart of gold and sincerely cared about other people.”
A resident of Rechovot told COLlive: “Rabbi Levin’s passing is a massive loss for our community. His guidance and direction was a source of comfort to so many of us.”
He is survived by his children: Mrs. Taichman from Nachlas Har Chabad, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Levin – Mashgiach and Mashpia of the Chabad Yeshiva in Rechovot, Rabbi Menachem Levin – Shliach in Sharon, Israel and Rabbi Shneur Levin from Rechovot.
He was predeceased by his wife Shifra Levin obm.
The levaye took place in Israel on Motzei Shabbos.
