Rabbi Ariel Rav-Noy, a Shliach in Los Angeles, California and father of 7, passed away Wednesday, 8 Shevat, 5775.
He was 36.
Rabbi Rav-Noy passed away suddenly, leaving a shocked and grieving community, family and friends.
Rabbi Rav-Noy was assistant director of Chabad Persian Youth in Los Angeles, working with the Chabad Persian youth and children.
He was friendly, outgoing and brilliant, a family member told COLlive.
“He was a genius, he had an incredible memory,” she said. “He could tell you about any subject where it was written and by whom.”
Possessing a bubbly and outgoing personality with a loud laugh, Rav-Noy was an avid user of social media to connect to his community, keeping them informed of classes, celebrations and his thoughts, Chabad.org wrote.
In his role at Chabad Persian Youth, Rav-Noy reached out to many young Iranian Jews in the city’s high schools. He started the High Holiday High School and Youth Minyan, and would regularly visit Jewish clubs at University High School in West Los Angeles, Beverly Hills High School and Santa Monica College.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam and 7 children.
He is also survived his parents, Dr. Zev and Varda Rav-Noy, and siblings Racheli Muchnik Oxnard, CA; Avi Rav-Noy, Michy Rav-Noy and Eyal Rav-Noy, all of Los Angeles.
The levaya will take place tomorrow, at 11:30 am from Chabad Persian Youth Center, 9022 W Pico Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90035.
