R’ Zalman Angster, a member of the Chabad community of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Monday, 19 Nissan, 5780.
He was 68.
Mr. Angster was a long-standing member of the Chabad community in Baltimore for close to 50 years. He served as the gabbai in the early years and always made a point to attend minyanim 3 times a day. He had a deep sense of hiskashrus to the Rebbe and could always be seen with a tehillim in hand.
Together with his wife, Zalka, he raised a large Lubavitch family with children and grandchildren, ka”h.
More recently, he lived in Boynton Beach, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Zalka and children, Etta Bienenstock (Baltimore, MD), Chanie Bickel (Teaneck, NJ), Yehuda Angster (Englewood, NJ), Fruma Cohen (Boynton Beach, FL), Pesha White (Brooklyn/Long Island), Saadya Angster (Baltimore, MD), Mushka Rozen (Baltimore, MD), Yosef Angster (Israel/Brooklyn), Menachem Angster (Brooklyn, NY) and Shterna Angster (Baltimore/Brooklyn).
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, in Baltimore at 1 pm.

Zalman I will miss you everyday. For over 15 years we learned together. You wanted to know every detail of every Halacha. People didn’t understand who you were. Every fiber of your soul given over to your religion on a level I couldn’t always understand. The joy you had when one of your children would call you radiated with chaiyos. You left to early my friend I pray The Goel Zedek comes soon we will be together again. I know you will be a Guter Beter far unz.
