Close to two hundred people gathered in Eden hall in the Stamford Hill neighborhood in London to mark the completion of the 36th and 12th cycles of the respective paths of learning Rambam, and the 53rd Yartzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s mother, Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson OBM.
The crowd heard from the Rav of the Lubavitch community in London, Dayan Levi Yitzchak Raskin on the Rambam’s position on the philosophical dilemma of resolving Hashem’s all-encompassing knowledge vs. our own free choice.
Following the Siyum, Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Wolberg, Magid Shiur in the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Manchester, farbrenged with guests about the Chasidishe perspective on Teshuva and the relationship of Yidden with Hashem.
As a special feature of this event, the Rebbe’s Choizer Rabbi Yoel Kahn joined and delivered a talk from his home for this gathering via live feed. Using ideas from monetary Halacha, R’ Yoel gave an overview of Igeres Hateshuva of the Alter Rebbe and it’s sources in Rambam.

In memory of Rabbi Ovadya Schtrocks obm, a beloved teacher who lived in the area for many years and whose Yartzeit fell on Monday, a special brochure written by Rabbi Yoel Kahn was printed and distributed to all participants. This was sponsored by the Schtrocks family.
“Merkaz Chasidus” and “Lubavitch Kollel” of London thank all supporters of this program and the others throughout the year.
