R’ Yakov Rogatsky, a longtime Crown Heights resident and father of a Chabad family, passed away on Thursday, Cheshvan 16, 5779.
He was 71.
Yakov was a successful contractor and a generous baal Tzedaka.
He was very active in the FREE Shul in Crown Heights for many years.
He is survived by his wife Fanya and children, Dovid Rogatsky, Eli Rogatsky, Sholom Rogatsky, Yossi Rogatsky, Zalman Rogatsky, Abe Rogatsky, Mendel Rogatsky, Mrs. Chanie Gordon and Mrs. Leah Golowinsky, all of Crown Heights.
The Levaya will take place today, Thursday, leaving Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at 2:30 PM and passing by 770 at 3:30 PM.

So, so sad. The Rogatsky family, collectively, must be thanked for their amazing hachnossas orchim. it was a team effort that will always be remembered. May Mrs. Rogatsky, his wonderful aishes chayil, find comfort in all the warm, good things R’ Yankel will be remembered for.
We daven that Hashem gives her the strength to continue…

Growing up im free shul. Yaacov always had a smile and made you feel welcome. His famous chant “shishi” still rings in my ears every shabbos during Krias Hatorah.

I knew R’ Yankel very well, despite him being older then me, he was gracious, respectful, always and i mean always greeted all with a warm friendly smile, I am a resident of CH so never was an oirech at his home, but his Avrahan Avienu Midah of Hachnasos Oirchim was very well known. He never ever differentiated between a wealthy or poor man, it didnt matter to him if you were from the Machers, one always felt comfortable in his 4 Amos. simple but extremely unique these days..
