R’ Shalom Friedman, one of the original members of the Chabad of Cleveland community and beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, 23 Sivan, 5785.
He was 90.
R’ Shalom, who was proud to be a direct descendant of the Rashi and a family of big Rabbonim, was one of the original members of Chabad of Cleveland. He and his wife Tanya obm raised a large family in the path of Torah. He was close to the late Rabbi and Rebbetzin Kazen obm, leaders of the Chabad community in Cleveland, who brought R’ Shalom and his wife numerous times to visit the Rebbe and for yechidus.
He is survived by his children, Yossie Friedman – Crown Heights, Henya Abramowitz – Crown Heights, Stacy Gutnick – Miami, Sonya Yiftach – California, Devorah Lawrence – Staten Island, NY, Eli Friedman – Crown Heights, Chana Miriam Keller – Crown Heights and Menachem Mendel Friedman – Cleveland, Ohio, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
