R’ Chaim Yitzchok (Harry) Spiegel, a former resident of Los Angeles, and more recently Crown Heights, passed away on Shabbos Bhaaloscha, 18 Sivan, 5785.
He was 74.
R’ Harry was a highly successful attorney, a tremendous baal tzedakah who helped hundreds of mosdos. He was passionate about the Rebbe’s mitzvah campaigns. He was also actively involved in the Machne Yisroel Development Fund established by the Rebbe.
He was a longtime resident of Los Angeles, where he and his wife were known for their open home. In his later years, he moved to Israel, where he spent much of his time at the Kosel, helping people put on tefillin.
He was devoted to learning, and completed the Shas several times.
In recent years, he moved back to New York.
He is survived by his children, Dahlia Spiegel, Moishe Spiegel, Ariel Spiegel, Mendy Spiegel and Aidel Spiegel.
The Levaya will take place on Sunday, 19 Sivan, passing by 770 at 10:45 AM and 11:30 AM at Old Montefiore Cemetery.
Shiva will be at 77 East 54th St. between Clarkson Ave & Winthrop St.

So sorry to see this news. I remember him from when I was in Yeshiva in Los Angeles in the late 1980’s. He was a gregarious character with a big heart.
He should have a lichtigeh Gan Eden. BD’E

May his Neshama have an aliyah and may his kids do a lot of good and make him proud

We spent a few years together on the mitzvah tank together, he was the best at standing on the street with Teffillin and a charity box, and bringing Jews into the tank , very sad news, a elevation for his Neshama! Moshiach Now
I remember him from l.a. growing up but I especially remember having the zchus to meet and talk to him at the kosel around 7 years ago he was radiating wiith simcha and chayus and kind pleasantness he was making other Jews happy and alive (he was living then next to the kosel and was every day doing mivzoim at the kosel plazza) he seemed to me then as the ultimate chasid it was reb charm Itche in his glory he was telling me about the different yiden he was mekarev and he was so happy and fortunate about it… Read more »
