Purim Katan at Oholei Torah

Following the Rebbe’s lead from Purim Koton 5741, a massive Rally was held for all grades in Oholei Torah in Crown Heights on Friday. This is one of the few times that the entire school gathered together, which takes great strategic planning and thought, to capture the attention of all the talmidim.

The Rally was held in the Raitport Beis HaMedrash, which began with the Rebbe’s Kapitol, said by Levi Paltiel, followed by a short sicha which the Rebbe spoke at a Tzivos Hashem Rally Purim Koton 5741/1981 in 770. What is unique, and made it most meaningful, is each class learned in depth the sicha during the days leading up to Purim Koton, each on their level, and then at the rally, they listened to a tape from the sicha.

Rabbi Levi Goldstein then told the talmidim the story of Purim Koton of 5687/1927, when the Frierdiker Rebbe spoke about the mesirus nefesh for chinuch.

The Pesukim were said together, and were dedicated to Rabbi Levi Deitsch obm, whose birthday is on Purim Koton.

In the spirit of Purim, the talmidim watched a spectacular show from the Twins from France, who introduced many new acts, and involved the children in their show.

A great Yasher Koach to the Oholei Torah PTA who co-sponsored the event, and the principals, Rabbis Meir Shimshoni, Zalman Goldstein, Yehoshua Lustig and Sholom Goldstein together with Rabbi Veli Karp who organized and put this whole event together.

As the talmidim went home, they will surely share the excitement and meaning of Purim Koton with their families over Shabbos.
