Anticipation for the Rebbe’s 120th Birthday this Yud Alef Nissan is mounting, and young Shluchim worldwide are busy preparing. Launching on Thursday, 28 Adar II, over 400 children have already joined the Hachana Tzuzamen program, which hopes to bring young shluchim together in learning, fun, and friendship as they strengthen their hiskashrus in honor of the momentous occasion.
An innovative and remarkably interactive curriculum has been created specifically for this occasion. The children will learn basic concepts regarding the Rebbe as a Nasi and their special Shlichus as part of the Rebbe’s generation. The program, a project of MyShliach at Merkos 302, was specially designed to be used in a virtual setting. Incorporating hands-on activities, experiments, and games, the creators hope the ideas and messages will come to life in their homes.
“These children, who are zoche to be growing up on the Rebbe’s Shlichus, have an inborn connection with the Rebbe,” said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch. “In honor of this most significant birthday, we hope to help the children understand and appreciate the Rebbe, their connection to him and his Shlichus in a whole new light.“
The children will gather over Zoom once a week for an hour-long, high-energy, and interactive learning experience. The weekly meetings are designed to facilitate closer friendships and more meaningful interactions amongst the young Shluchim by being limited in size and set by grade and region. The children will gather together as the program culminates with a grand MyShliach virtual Farbrengen/Rally, which will IY”H take place on Yud Alef Nissan.
These close-knit, regional meetings are modeled after the significant success of Shabbos Tzuzamen, which brought Yaldei HaShluchim together in one hundred individual locations for regional micro-Shabbatons. “The amount of amazing feedback we received after Shabbos Tzuzamen motivated us to build using a similar model, focusing on small groups of children from nearby areas,” explained Rabbi Shaya Itkin, Program director for MyShliach. “This program will encourage the relationships formed by the Shabbatons to continue growing. The smaller classes will also allow the teachers to ensure every child is getting the attention and care they deserve.”
The Hachana Tzuzamen program is catered for boys and girls from grades 3 through 8. Sign-up is free until Monday 25, Adar 2, after which the cost will be $8 per child.
