Are you ready for a kosher submarine sandwich?
Prime Sandwich, the newest restaurant addition to Brooklyn’s Crown Heights Jewish neighborhood, is opening its doors Wednesday afternoon ahead of schedule.
Owner Yossi Gershowitz originally planned to open before Tishrei 5772, but got a head start before the influx of guests arrive.
COLlive.com got a tour Tuesday night of the trendy looking eatery located at 377 Kingston Avenue, between Carroll and Crown Streets.
15 square tables that can easily seat 30 people are lined up on the right and left orange colored walls, under large mirrors and a photo of the Rebbe handing children coins for charity.
We found on the menu schnitzel sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, deli sandwiches (with a choice to be grilled or toasted) and even veggie sandwiches – most of them are going for $9.95.
Salads that caught our eye were the burger salad, corned beef salad and portobello salad. And there are 14 sauces ready to dress any dish.
Gershowitz said the restaurant, supervised by Crown Heights Kosher (CHK), will be open weekdays from 11:00 AM until midnight (and possibly until 1:00 AM).
On Wednesday, September 14 and Thursday, September 15 all items on the menu will be 20% off.
there are hot dogs and burgers and shnitzels also!
much hatzlachah! i wish there was something like that in Argentina…
why do people have to criticize someone for opening up a resturant that will serve the community? you can’t blame a resturant for lack of tznius. you have to train people to be tznius. there is immodesty everywhere, blaming a kosher resturant makes no sense at all. good luck I hope to try it out.
to # 2:
There is a place in Melbourne: Daneli’s!!! Best burgers in the world!!
Wow…the resturant looks really cool. The construction, design, and decoration are both creative and elegant. Can’t wait to come in and taste the food. Who was the contractor on the job? Would like to reccommend him to my friends.
my father built this restuarant and i just wanted to say that he and the owner, yossi put in a lot of work into building and setting up this restaurant. i still didnt get a chance to go there and to try it out but im sure its great.so everyone just look at the positive side and just be happy that another kosher restuarant opened up near you!!!There is no reason to put it down!!! hope you enjoy!!!

It has a picture of the Rebbe on the wall so whatever happens inside is automatically chassidish!
Becaause frum, chassidishe girls shouldn’t be out in the
streets at night , other then going or coming from a simcha or a
shiur. Bochurim are usually hungry after night seder,

SCHNITZZLYYY <3 <3
Your new restaurant looks beautiful and inviting. I hope many of the T ishrei guests will enjoy eating there. I do think that before CHK gives a hechsher on a restaurant they should insist that no girls are allowed to sit and eat after 10:00 p.m. and a sign on the door asks that anyone that enters be sensitive to the halachos of tznius in dress, speech and action. Other communities do this and why shouldn’t we. We all want the Rebbe to be proud of us so why not enforce rules that we all know the Rebbe wants us… Read more »
the problem you think everything in life is a stira well its not you cant always look at the negative in life you have to also look at the positive or you will just become a person who no one wants to have anything to do with so if everybody will mind there business then we will all get along, but the problem is that we all live in other peoples life’s that’s not why we were sent into this world we were sent to refine this world not by making politics so lets give evryone a chance and do… Read more »
looks beautiful. just want to let the owners know that most ppl don’t like sitting to eat while the whole kingston watches. maybe some curtains or blinds?
ya i totally agrree w/ u !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ur ssaying it in a nice manner and i hope noone dare messes with #40 cuz ur wrong i asked ny rabbi!
If ur so chasidush why u have internet!!!???
I understand what he/she means. He/she is worried that this lovely new store will be a place where boys and girls get too friendly in an inappropriate way. You may not think it’s a problem, but it is. It may be OK in Flatbush but it is not mainstream in Crown Heights. We know it happens but it offends most of us.
I hope the store is successful. And cheaper!
Much Hatslacha!
Looks wonderful.
NIce pic of the Rebbe,
Surely there is a Tsedka Pushka in store, -as the Rebbe advised many-, but for some reason didn’t end up in col pictures.
Yossi all the best!
*Bring the al-mighty in to the business, and you got a good partner!
I don’t understand what happened to doing iscafia and getting involved in Jewish things like a new sefer and a newly released sicha not what’s new on the food market we have to try and live lives of chassidim not people who are way to envolved in their physical pleasure Torah is “nitzchi” its the same forever and the same is for chassidim this is the reason our kids turn out looking for things worse than “taeves hamutorim” because There is no emphasis on Jewish things only restaurants etc. Now wonder why these places turn into hang out areas each… Read more »
#7 Let’s give you a ‘brocho’ that your income increases so that you can afford 50 sandwiches with ease.
Boruch ben Tvzi (A”H) Hoffinger HaKohaine
Its about time!
It’s a pleasure to be able to eat in CH, knowing that the Hechsher is reliable. Thank you!!!
Wil Collive be posting the surveillance videos?
love the photography, who took the pics?
http://www.primesandwich.com/
u can see the menu there.
shame that it is only sandwiches and no option for platters…
im glad you didnt waste your time to respond to 18, only to read it… lol
Crazy amount of support for #10…..#1 go back to Europe ……
I only wrote that, because of number 3’s question.

Im sick and tired of idiots like you answering the other idiots! what a waste of time reading your comment
Will there be pickles available for purchase? What about Matbooha?
Thank you for not being too intimidated to include your views.
It’s about time, I’m so excited to try out a new place!! I hope the food tastes as good as it sounds!
My MAN!
### 10 good job! To #1 please move if you r ashamed of us crown heightsers. We are proud of who we are so we’re gonna stay! :))))
You are sooo right!!!
I’m nominating you for the community council.
Can you please run?
And send all the kvetchers to Williamsburg or somewhere else!
whats wrong with you? you are ashamed of this? you need to get your priorities straight! there are worse things going around CH to be ashamed of! are you not ashamed of the tzinius problems in CH?
#10 thank you
to 8 – if u glance at the picture you will see a website…. how about checking it!
to 4 – wouldn’t you think they would have what most people eatt with their sandwiches??
to#1

If someone wants to hang out they can do it everywhere
regardles. So lets face it we are not a police force& can not police the crowd & yes crown hights residents should may be think to represent the REBBES schuna in a better light.
CALI 🙂
nice….
#10 thank you you stole the words out of my mouth
to #1 whats wrong with you? why everytime we have something good going people like you have something negative to say??!!
we do have a place like this in melb-DANELIS. Mmmm their shnitzel burgerr…
Simcha or Hoilelus?
i agree with u 100%
To #1
Boro Park and Flatbush have hundreds of restaurants lining their streets – why shouldn’t we? And here’s a suggestion if you are ashamed of living in crown heights…….MOVE! Believe me, we are just as ashamed to have people like you living here too.
Its gonna be the best sandwich place in a whole CH…just believe me…come today and enjoy it!!!
do they have a website
do they deliver
Let’s hope they will also put some cheaper items on the menu (cheaper burgers, hot dogs etc). When you have a large family it becomes too expensive to pay 10 bucks a sandwich
I hope that this place will be clean and spotless.
why r u so ashamed if theres hangouts? as long as yidden are enjoying and besimcha isnt that what matters??
will I be able to obtain mustard whilst I am there?
will there be coke there?
I wish that there was something like that in Melbourne
it wont become a new hang out and another reason to ashamed to live in CH
