One of the most popular sites in Jerusalem is the kever of Dovid HaMelech, located on Har Tzion in the Old City.
Jews daven at the Kever regularly, and Christians come to conduct tours and ceremonies – both out of respect for King David, which is holy to everyone, and because they also respect the holy site.
In a picture that went viral on social media, one of the regular Mispalillim, Reb Shraga Brand, was seen putting Tefillin on a priest. Reb Shraga is at the site daily, as he puts tefillin on Jews who come to visit the area.
Rabbi Yitzchak Gabay used his Facebook page to tell this particular story, based on the photo that hit social media.
“This was when the priest came with a group of nuns to visit the tziyun, and the chossid, whose name is Rabbi Shraga Brand felt that he should ask the priest something personal…”
“Are you Jewish?” He asked him, and the answer was positive.
The priest merited putting on tefillin for the first time in his life, and met with ahavas Yisrael, which is able to overcome gaps like religious affiliation and clothing.
“Who is like the nation of yisrael”
May he be able to live as a full-fledged Yid
MOSHIACH NOW
It is amazing he knew the priest was a jew. Hashgocha he knew this to get the priest to put on tefilin
he didnt, he asked
Truly משיח tzeiten!
I asked a shala from a Rov if one should put tfilin with a meshumod The answer was no until he rejects yeshu . Also someone needs comprehensive training in anti missionary work before engaging with a meshumed or missionary.Rabbi Kravitz would be a goood start.
The galach probably now thinks he is a complete Jew just like yeshu . Literally shreklach well meaning but a misguided chosid
How do you know he was a meshumad? it looks like he asked him if he was jewish, and the jew was very respectful about it. Who knows how he ended up there, doesnt mean he was arguing or even disagreeing with what the Jew was saying.
What do you mean, “how do you know he was a meshumad”? He’s a Jew and he’s a Christian. Therefore he is by definition a meshumad. What other possibility is there?
What makes him Jewish ? Did he give any explanation????
Just like everyone else on mivtzoim
