President of Ukraine Volodomyr Zelensky met with a group of Chabad Shluchim in Ukraine ahead of the Pesach holiday.
“Pesach is the holiday of freedom. We believe that we will also experience a miracle like the children of Israel did in Egypt,” Zelensky said. “The Russians want to annihilate us. Israel and Ukraine are facing forces of darkness.”
Rabbi Mayer Stambler, from the Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine (FJCU), who organized the visit, presented the president with the Passover Haggadah in Ukrainian and Matzos reserved for the Seder night. The president listened attentively to words from the Head Shliach and Chief Rabbi of Dnipro, Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.
The meeting took place in the shelter and courtyard of the ‘Simcha’ Jewish school of the dedicated Shluchim Rabbi Moti and Devorah Leah Levenhartz.
The event was also attended by the President’s personal friend, FJCU Vice-Chairman and Kyiv Rabbi Rabbi Raphael Ruthman.
What Putin is accomplishing in the world and l’havdil what Zelensky is accomplishing (under it all) – would rather go with Putin agenda.
