New York Times writes about Rabbi Israel Shemtov, owner of a rabbinical clothing store on Kingston Ave. in Crown Heights, who was trying to get Jay Greenfield to become more spiritual. "I told the rabbi, 'I’m not asking for the Giants to win every week — I’m not greedy — I just want them to make the playoffs.'" Full Story, Video

If the team loses you can discourage thousands from putting on Tephillen.Did Mr Shemtov speak to any Rabbonim before speaking to the press about something which can make a laughing stock of this important mitzva. This is the hight of irresponsibility.

I wonder if the Times saw it there first and then wrote their story?
