Yossi Melamed, who from the early 1970s spent hundreds of hours photographing the Rebbe, has fallen in his home, and is now in a coma.
The Israeli born Melamed worked for the Algemeiner Journal and has photographed many great rabbis and leaders, but took a particular interest in the Rebbe and would often be seen at 770 Eastern Parkway.
JEM (Jewish Educational Media) has recently acquired his vast photo collection and their staff have been working with him on archiving them.

I regret to inform you that Reb Yossie Melamed was niftar a few hours ago. The levaya will take place Thursday morning at 9:30 at Shomrei Hachomos, ft. Hamilton parkway and 43rd street. Kevura will be at eretz hachaim Cemetery in bet shemesh eretz yisroel on Friday.

As a 13 year old it makes me so sad when I look at the pictures of the Rebbe and realize that I didnt have the zchus to see the Rebbe face to face
