Throughout this year, the Yungeleit of the Kolel L’horaah Ma’asis of Crown Heights, learned in-depth the Halachos of Eruvin, with the Psokim of the Alter Rebbe, Tzemach Tzedek and the Rebbe.
On Tuesday, a group of Yungeleit from the Kolel went on a “Shiur Tour” in Brooklyn, with the Rosh Kolel Rabbi Sholom Shuchat, to see the various practical elements which may have a bearing on an Eruv, focusing on:
How to measure the pitch radius of hills and the beach; measuring the density and height of shrubbery; the arches under train tracks, and the train tracks themselves; different kinds of docks; electricity poles which aren’t straight, and electricity lines which are sagging; measuring sea walls made from concrete or stone; how to deal with bridges; encircling islands; looking at power plants, etc.
After concluding the tour on land, the Yungeleit continued the tour on sea, with Captain Bob Weigand of the “Lady Flamingo”.
The Kolel, which concludes its third successful year, is headed by Rabbi Yosef Greenwald – Menahel, Rabbi Shuchat – Rosh Kolel, and Rabbi Shraga Homnick – Sgan Rosh Kolel.

Will there be more shiurim posted online in the future from the Kollel? For the last few months there have not been many posted
