After learning that the girls were safe, the Caribe Cove Resort’s manager, Keith Odza, putting on tefillin for the first time.
He was helped by Rabbi Zvi Konikov of Chabad of the Space & Treasure Coasts and Rabbi Yosef Konikov of Chabad of South Orlando.
“I said to him that today is your bar mitzvah,” said Rabbi Zvi Konikov, “and that you should always remember that when things seem like they can’t go right. remember this day that darkness can turn into light.”
