The meeting took place in one of the rooms of The New American Academy Charter School, giving the Bochurim a chance to really get the feel of what it’s like to be on the inside of one of New York’s Public schools.
Waronker shared some thoughts and inspiration on how to properly connect with public school children and gain their attention and respect.
Is a chossid of the first order. And in regards to chassidishe kids, don’t under estimate the power of a positive attitude and leading by example. It goes a long way. I think that the Rebbe would favor that more than a critical eye.
GO JZ HORWITZ !!
MMACHT CHASIDIM!!!
As a group, New Yorkers are quicker, sharper, faster, tougher, and more outspoken! Nothing to do with chassidishkeit. This is a tough city with savvy kids. Makes for a pretty demanding audience in the classroom!
Our community children need love and attention when they will get that from us u will see IYH a wonderful change..its up to us not “our chassidisher children”!
Let’s start looking at our selves first!!!
Um, have you actually walked into a public school?
Don’t trash our kids, they might need to work on their behaviour but they are light years ahead of public school kids.
Go yossi rapp! You da man!
All the 100 that do release time ;)!
No. We never go into the actual rooms. We wait for the kids at the lobby or office etc.
Poorly behaved chassidishe kids?
Only if you look at them with a bad eye.
Looking with a bad eye?
Feh. That’s not chassidish.
taking after his grandmother rebbetzin Newman from boston who did released time every day,
“Giving the Bochurim a chance to really get the feel of what it’s like to be on the inside of one of New York’s Public schools.”
Isn’t that what they do every Wednesday? Go to public schools to pick up the children??!!
ZALMY BRYSKI, YOSSI RAP, HAMASHPIA.

Great idea!
Great, so any advice on how to get the attention and respect of chassidishe kids? They tend to be much more poorly behaved.
