A special pre-Rosh Hashana ceremony took place on Monday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, bringing together staff members in preparation for the new year.
The event was led by Rabbi Or Ziv, Chabad Shliach in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem, who has maintained a warm connection with the office staff.
As reported, he was instrumental in coordinating the moment when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu famously put on Tefillin for the first time in a documented setting.
Rabbi Ziv has also established a Chassidus study group there, which continues to this day with a regular weekly shiur.
During the gathering, Rabbi Ziv affixed a new mezuzah, addressed the participants with insights from Chassidus on the meaning of the month of Elul and the preparations for Rosh Hashana, and also sounded the shofar.
One particularly moving moment was when a large portrait of the Rebbe was hung on the wall of one of the conference rooms during the event.
Rabbi Ziv expressed special appreciation to Mrs. Devorah Ravid, a longtime staff member, who partnered with him five years ago to launch the Chassidus learning initiative at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Since then, employees have been able to benefit from the Rebbe’s teachings and actively participate in the Rebbe’s mitzvah campaigns.

It’s beautiful, but it’s hanging on the wall crooked and needs to be adjusted.
When will Netanyahu DO what thé Rebbe told him to???
When will us chasidim finally dovwhat the rebbe told us…
Its very easy to put all the work on one individual…
He will when he looks at the picture of the Rebbe every day and looks good guidance
Questionable if it’s respectful to have the Rebbe’s picture there
V’Hamavin Yavin!
