The good name of “Kolel Keter Shaul” has spread far and wide beyond the boundaries of Petach Tivka, the city where it is located. Despite it being a relatively young Kolel, it’s already known among Chabad’s impressive list of such institutions.
Mainly thanks to its intensive learning curriculum which includes in-depth study of Chassidus and Education. Additionally, the Kolel yungeleit volunteer during evenings and before Shabbos and Yom Tov to assist the city’s Shluchim in their activities, under Petach Tikva’s Head Shliach Rabbi Osher Duetsch.
This past Shabbos – Shabbos Chazak, the central chassidishe farbrengen took place at the “Hadar Menachem” shul, organized by the main gabbai, Shliach Reb Eliezer Veisfish. While the Mara De’asra, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Friedman was speaking, a suggestion came up that the Kolel’s students journey together to daven on the yartzeit of the holy Arizal.
Indeed, the Kolel’s sponsor, philanthropist R’ Shuki Gur, took this project on himself, and even joined the yungeleit on their trip, where he got to witness firsthand how dedicated the students are to their learning, fulfilling the words “uvelechtecha vaderech”, under the guidance of their dedicated Rosh Kolel Rabbi Shaul Deutsch of Moscow.
After davening Shacharis at the resting place of the holy Tana, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Miron, the men sat down to a generous breakfast, and then continued on to Tzfas, where they immersed in the mikva of the Holy Arizal, and davened at the resting place of R’ Yisroel Arye Leib Shneerson OBM.
From there they continued on to the central Tefilla gathering which took place at the Arizal’s kever on his yartzeit, where they davened for the esteemed Gur family, and all of the Kolel’s supporters, as well as for the entire Chabad community of Petach Tikva which encourages and follows the Kolel’s success with great joy.
