Pesach in Peru under High Security

A Pesach Seder in Cusco, Peru, was organized by Shluchim Ofer and Yael Kripor with the help of 8 bochurim, a staff of 30, 15 chefs, and held under heavy security with 170 security personnel.

The Seder for 1,200 was held in the rugged Cusco Mountains of Peru, 11,000 feet above sea level.

Shliach Rabbi Ofer Kripor met in advance with the local police department to prepare for the heightened security needed for the event. Over 170 security personnel patrolled the area, which was closed off to the general public, including snipers on nearby rooftops.

Bochurim on Merkos Shlichus Dovid Blasberg, Mendy Begun, Chaim Wilansky, Yossi Chanowitz, Moshe Naparstek, Dovber Spitetzki, Avremi Prus and Moshe Frank worked together with the staff and volunteers to clean, cook and prepare the massive Seder for locals and tourists.
