With so many struggling financially, over 100 Crown Heights families received packages of food and other necessities, including financial assistance to alleviate the expense of the Pesach holiday this year.
The funding for the Pesach assistance was made possible by Bais Shmuel Chabad and various donors.
Aside from financial assistance of up to $1,000, the Pesach packages included Pesach necessities and 2 pounds of Matzah.
Each package also included a $100 gift card to Kettle & Cord on Kingston Avenue.
Also included were discounts at neighborhood businesses such as Regency Cleaners, Eber’s Wine, Kettle and Cord and Weinstein’s Hardware.
Sponsors included Benz’s, Yossi Popack, Gourmet Glatt, Emporium Gourmet Glatt, Kettle & Cord, Schmerling’s Swiss Chocolate, לע”נ יהודה לייב ז״ל בן מרדכי / איטא ז׳׳ל בת יוטלא, and the Drizin Family in loving memory of Avrahom Ben DovBer Yortzeit Yud Nissan, the Schottenstin Foundation, The Backer Family, Benshimon, Brummel, Eckhaus, Fisher, Greenwald, Gorowitz, Hager, Jacobson, Junik, Kabatchnik, Lasker, Minkowicz, Minkowitz, Malamud, Popack, Schochet, Sanderson, L Schiener, S Schiener, Sperlin, Vishedsky, Wilhelm, and Zunts Families.
