“Food is an important aspect of any event,” says Rabbi Avtzon, organizer of the annual ULYOP Chinese Auction this Sunday. “But this year we wanted to take it even further.”
The ULY Ocean Parkway auction adopted the new title “Ocean Sparksway” this year, a play on their school name.
The theme refers to the hidden spark inside every child they cater to.
The annual fundraiser event will offer the gourmet cuisine attendees have come to expect of a ULY OP auction: the full blown sushi bar, the hot buffet, and the Viennese spread (table of desserts).
But this year, Sparksway is pushing gourmet cuisine even further. Pastry chef Udi Ezra, formerly of Basil, currently of KMR Tours, and shortly (and very excitedly) of a new Cafe planned for Kingston Ave, will be presenting a live pastry demonstration.
There, you will learn the art of creating, plating, and serving some of the most delectable pastry desserts available in kosher cuisine, just in time for Shavuos.
Men are invited from 3:30pm to 5pm, and from 5pm and on it’s women’s only. The program begins at 8pm and the drawing is at 9pm.
Admission is $25 and includes a $20 ticket.
Tickets will also be available at ulyauction.com until 7:45pm this Sunday, May 15th. You can only win it if you’re in it…

Way to go UDI!
Great school.
Will the demonstration be available on line? It’s so hard to get a clear view when you are sitting in the audience. Also ask the on line participants, and the men may want tho see him too.
Where is the auction?
