Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back to the Parsha Studio!
Next week, we celebrate Lag Baomer, It marks the passing of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, also known as the Rashbi, who was a revered sage. You might wonder why we celebrate this day instead of mourning his loss. The reason is that Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai wished for this day to be a joyous occasion, and for everyone to remember the teachings and values that he emphasized throughout his life.
Rashbi taught the world the hidden parts of the Torah, the real secrets of the Torah called the Zohar which is compared to fire. To remember this, we will paint and design a canvas that represents the fire/secrets of the Torah. Today we will learn how to blend paint colors while using paint brushes and sponges to create a fiery background. This modern art bonfire will not be complete until the secrets of Torah are added, through the variety of stencils and stamps.
