Hi Boys and Girls!
Welcome back to the Parsha Studio!
In this week’s Parsha, Tazria, Miriam, who was the sister of Moshe Rabeinu, spoke negatively about her brother Moshe. As a punishment for her words, she was struck with Tzoras, a disease that covered her body with white flakes. When someone contracted Tzoras, they had to be isolated from the rest of the Yidden until the Kohen declared them cured. This incident taught all the Yidden a valuable lesson about the importance of speaking positively about each other.
Today we will be doing a color-changing science experiment using red Cabbage, vinegar, and baking soda. Red cabbage has a pigment called anthocyanin that changes color when mixed with acid or base due to its water-soluble nature.
Just as the Cabbage Water will immediately change colors when it hits the vinegar and baking soda, so too our words have an immediate effect on the world.
