A central memorial was held in the great synagogue of Paris, marking a year since the bloody terror attack in the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket in a Paris suburb last January.
Four Jews were murdered in the supermarket located in the Porte de Vincennes area of Paris when Islamic terrorist Amedy Coulibaly stormed the building on a Friday, hours before Shabbos.
Families of the victims were invited to light the candles of the Chanukah Menorah and recite Kaddish in memory of their loved ones, as community members and rabbis answered “Amen.”
The “Let There Be Light: A Concert of Unity” was organized by U.S. Jewish radio personality Nachum Segal and co-sponsored by the Consistoire de Paris and Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.
The program included musical performances and dedications from France, the US and Israel.
Shortly following the event, the Paris prosecutor’s office reported that a man and a woman were arrested in northern France on suspicion of supplying guns to a man who attacked the supermarket.
The man has been identified as Claude Hermant — described as an acknowledged mercenary — while the woman is said to be his partner, AP reported.
I remember that black Friday during mivzoim when the sad news came in. ..
Moshiach now! !!!!!
