In response to the recent rise in the popularity of non-traditional healing methods, incorporating psychedelics and hallucinogens, Neshamos.org has organized a panel of experts and laypeople to address this significant topic. Journeying towards emotional and mental wholeness can be a challenging path, but here at Neshamos.org, we’re not shying away from tough conversations.
As part of our #JourneyingtoWholeness through the Omer, we’re exploring a topic that has seen a recent surge in interest and popularity and is often misrepresented both by its proponents and opponents. This panel was organized as an attempt at presenting a balanced view on the topic, taking into consideration the potential impact it can have on a broad range of areas, including those that are often overlooked by traditional healing research.
Our ultimate goal is to provide the information from a holistic and widespread perspective so that each individual may make an educated and informed decision for themself.
This event will be taking place on Zoom this Wednesday, May 3, at 8:30 PM.
What are psychedelics truly all about? Can it provide legitimate means of achieving emotional betterment and wholeness? Do the ends justify the means? Is this holiness? These are some of the pointers that our panelists plan to broach. This topic is often misunderstood or deemed taboo, but an open and frank conversation is necessary.
We’re thrilled to be hosting a panel of four, each with unique perspectives and backgrounds that concern the emotional, psychological, clinical, and spiritual aspects of this discussion.
Meet our panelists:
Rabbi Tzvi Freeman, senior editor at Chabad.org and author of several books on Jewish mysticism and meditation.
Reb Joey Rosenfeld LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in the addiction field, focusing on the intersection between philosophy, spirituality, and psychology.
Mrs. Divi Bogart, APRN, eating disorder, and women’s mental health specialist.
Rabbi Ofer Kripor serves as the Chabad Shliach in Cusco, Peru, and has gained firsthand experience observing individuals seeking psychedelic experiences.
We hope this will be a true eye-opener for our community, and with the help of Hashem, be an illuminating and thought-provoking discussion.

Like all other liberal trash that is now commonplace, it’s starts with legitimizing the drug!
Every drug has some hallucinogenic qualities, marijuana and opiates included.
150 reasons cannot be metaher the Sheretz!
Please remove this.
Thanks,
A recovering addict.
I think the point of the panel is to explain the difference between this and other drugs
But to help us, especially those who work with youth, to understand what exactly they’re dealing with and how they’re being affected by these substances.
Exactly and also these therapies steer them away from bad drugs. I try to tell about them to teenagers who I see constantly stoned with the bad ones.
hey so you clearly seem frustrated and seem to have an opinion I don’t know you I don’t know your story with drugs, psychedelics on the other hand can definitely be used as a medicine. There are so many people that have been healed with these medicines. No one’s asking you to do it, but in today’s world with all the pharmaceutical drugs, they wanna give you for depression, anxiety, etc. plant-based medicine is something that heals instead of suppressors. In the right environment, with the right person, guiding you certain psychedelics can be life-changing for people that are struggling… Read more »
The therapy is done with non-addictive substances. For instance, mushrooms have no addiction.
I’m wondering if you feel the same way about SSRIs and other lab-made pharmaceuticals.
But please don’t use your pain and struggles to inflict false information. These medicines can heal.
they are poison. everything that says they heal is from the satan. stay away
I have no idea what that is thankfully.
Is that like psychics?
Why do you think they call it dope?
He has been “healing” people with all those natural things. Turned out he was providing psychedelic drugs. As a result, a ‘patient” seeking his help for depression has developed hallucinations, went into his son’s bedroom and stabbed him to death! Here is the link: https://www.maariv.co.il/news/law/Article-829536 Beware of what you place in your body! Don’t believe all those theories preached to you by “natural healers” even if they sound to make a lot of sense! Here is an example: There is an herb/vegetable called “St. Jones Wort”. It is known to help mild depression. Some prefer to use it rather than… Read more »
Your are right one needs to know what they’re putting in to themselves. Now this includes get much also regular meds , heavy ones that ppl are put on for depression, psych drugs etc did you know that that terrible side effects for many ppl some that cause irreversible damage to the brain. So it’s true these natural ” stuff can be a problem but you need to say the whole story. Many many ppl have been messed up from the regular meds too, and they aren’t properly told the possible debilitating affects either before
While I am certainly not advocating for psychedelic s drugs at all, or saying they should be used (they shouldn’t)just pointing out that a”solution” with the regular psych drugs are also not an ok solution for many
Very important to be having this
There is a whole field of study on the therapeutic potential of these substances, it is incredible to see the religious world utilizing novel treatment for struggles we face.
Can this be recorded?
Just request it through the given email after you get confirmation
We need to wake up to the dangers of marijuana. My great uncle died from a marijuana overdose and the kids these days are all on it. very sad! it is addictive and dangerous!
There are no verified reports of anyone having EVER died from overdosing THC, and the consensus of medical professionals is that it is highly unlikely and nearly impossible.
For reference you can contrast that with the following number of deaths per year
Alcohol Poisoning – approx 2200 deaths
Prescription Opioids – more than 15,000 deaths
Tylenol – 500 deaths
The train has left the station. This is not drugs. It’s medicine. And it’s not fun. It’s actually hard work. The western world is only beginning to understand the mammoth therapeutic potential of these power medicines. Don’t scoff until you know. The world deserves healing (through psychedelic meds) so we can jettison band aids (western psychiatric drugs) that don’t heal, but rather, at best, only serve to mitigate symptoms. We cannot, through sheer ignorance, fight this beautiful effort, knowing full well, that so many can be helped from the depth of despair. That would be unhelpful and uncaring.
Always telling it like it is. Thank you!
Love ❤️
attention all jews
stay far far FAR away from all these
they are completely dangerous
don’t ever listen to anyone who says otherwise.
If u are not a professional and have not worked in the field or did any research why would you dictate what anyone should stay away from? Are u a researchers? These blanket statement based on that- ignorance ?
I am a frum mental health professional and support the monitored use of psychedelics in mental healthcare. Research has already shown how psylocibin, ketamine, and lysergic acid can positively affect anxiety and depression. Research has begun for schizophrenia as well. This is not about people recreationally using drugs, this is about patients receiving care with physicians.
All this natural alternative stuff is a bunch of garbage. I know someone who was raised with it and ended up in a huge crisis from it as an adult and was finally helped with psychiatric care. People who are going to these healers mentioned in the article and putting these drugs in their body are basically doing substance abuse. Perhaps they need to see a psychiatrist. People who are judgemental of this and only spouting the natural side are harming those who need to get help. So many people are living in the dark ages when it comes to… Read more »
All of this natural garbage is not according to the Torah or the Rebbe.
It says clearly “Hashem nosen reshus l’rofei l’rapos”
Hashem gives the doctor permission to heal.
And it says this in so many letters from the Rebbe.
In addition I highly suggest everyone to read “Healthy in Mind , Body and spirit, volume three on mental health
Wait, so SSRIs and other mind-altering anti-depressant and anti anxiety medications ARE ok according to Torah and the Rebbe?
they CAUSE anxiety, schizophrenia, brain damage, soul damage, and much worse. some people have permanent recurring flashbacks. many people have been destroyed.
Do you have research to back that up, or are you speaking out of sheer fear?
Go Neshamos!!! Bringing the forefront of the healing to the community. Hashem should bench you.
How do we get a recording to the webinar ?
was this recorded?
