A panel of entrepreneurs gathered in Crown Heights to discuss the basics of business startup, management and success for a young that included frum men and women who are beginning or already joined the business world.
“Manage It!” was organized by Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs (CHYE), a group founded by Rabbi Yehoshua Werde to empower local career-minded youth with the tools and skills needed to succeed professionally and personally.
One attendee, Yonit Tanenbaum, a freelance writer and founder of the Crown Heights based PR agency YQ Media, noted that the panelists “shared some great resources” with community members.
“It’s encouraging to business owners like myself,” Tanenbaum continues, “that today there are many ways for us to share resources and work side by side or as a team.”
Manage It: How to Build and Grow a Business
If any Lubavitch Bochur would have the brain of Steve they would not need an education. Jobs was one of a kind and so was Einstien and other dropouts. So please don’t use them as an example. A bochur coming out of Yeshiva should work on getting some sort of education, because unless he is like the above mentioned people he will not get too far in his career life.
nothing a small busniess class and an intro to accounting class couldnt tell you at the LEAST! so many points such as how to structure a business plan, breakeven point, market research etc etc yes passion is number one but you need to be smart about it and be prepared…
excellent event. and thanks for the mechitzah. (certain shuls can learn from this for their non-davening events as well…)
Why are there no grants or scholarships offered in the community !! Not everyone can be a business owner but we all deserve a better life, if our community had scholarships and more proffesionals we would have more money for our schools and community .
