Chabad of the 5 Towns, on Long Island, celebrated the 40th birthday of Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, and succeeded in planting a very big smile on the Rabbi’s face.
Friends and family spent the Shabbos with Wolowik and his family, in joyous Farbrengen. His father in law Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, was there too.
His wife Chanie Wolowik had planned one more surprise: 40 men that are not regular Minyan attendees or “Tefillin Regulars” join for Sunday morning Shachris followed by a birthday breakfast and Gemora shiur.
In addition to the men that joined for the minyan, those that were unfortunately unable to make it were very excited about the idea and were very appreciative to have been called about it.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to call many community members and Hebrew School parents to join in this most auspicious birthday present,” Rabbi Meir Geisinsky, youth director of Chabad 5 Towns, said.
