After an extensive year-long restoration project, the original windows of “Cheder Sheini” in 770, located upstairs in the Zal, have been returned, now beautifully upgraded while preserving their historic character.
The carefully undertaken work focused on maintaining the authenticity of the original windows, while enhancing their appearance and durability. Following months of detailed craftsmanship and investment, the restored windows have now been reinstalled, adding renewed beauty to the iconic space.
The project was coordinated by Gershon Laufer and the “Vaad bedek habayis of 770” committee led by Chaim Boruch Halberstam, whose dedicated efforts ensured the successful completion of the restoration.
The project reflects a broader effort to preserve and honor the historic features of 770, ensuring that even as improvements are made, the integrity and legacy of the Rebbe’s shul and its cherished rooms remain intact.

A piece of precious history… so nostalgic! Was it Farbrengens or Simcha Torah….? Can’t remember… Mothers and daughters would gather around the stained glass windows (with black metal frames) to watch inside 770 upstairs – where it was all happening..
now, this does not have black metal frames
can be painted
why did they have to take off the original ones in the before
