The boys and girls in the 1st grade classes in the Nigri International Shluchim Online School celebrated their Chumash party with an online, live celebration attended by staff, family and friends.
Families and school faculty tuned in live to celebrate this long awaited event, a true milestone for the students who have worked hard all year long and finally earned their Chumash. With backdrops, costumes, and personalized decorations the virtual event was able to give the feeling of an in person celebration.
“The Chumash party was such a special event for our daughter and our family,” wrote Mrs. Bracha Filler, Shlucha to Prescott, Arizona. “For days before I would see my daughter practicing the motions with her friend during breaks and after school. My daughter woke up extra early the morning of the Chumash party, and I know she wasn’t the only one in her class that did. The girls were really shining in their crowns and backdrops!”
Prior to the party, each student received a package in the mail with all the supplies needed to celebrate, including a special crown, delicious nosh and a certificate signed by their Morahs.
The program began with presentations from the students who either sang a song or performed a skit before hearing inspirational words from teachers and staff. As each child received their very own Chumash, parents and grandparents who joined live were able to share their Mazel Tov wishes with the children.
“The energy felt at our Chumash Party this year can’t be described,” said Morah Mushka Blau. “The shining faces of the Maidelach seen at the Chumash celebration truly showed their love for Torah learning and for their class. The girls truly feel their place here in Online School and they are each a shining star!”
